One-of-a-kind, Handmade Miniature Forest Cottage Faerie Hutch

I have only recently begun to work in miniatures. I created the first magical supply hutch as a gift for a friend. I wanted something faerie (fairy) sized; something that perhaps might be found in the little forest cottage where she lived. This one is done very much in that forest cottage feel. The hutch is hand painted in a metallic copper and the doors are highlighted in multiple shades of silver and gold done in a sponge painting technique. Three of the drawer pulls are silver. Then I go to town creating all sorts of unique items to fill the shelves. It's very particular, precise work and it takes many, many hours to complete a single hutch.

This is the first Forest Cottage style hutch. The top-shelf, tall cabinet opens and there is multi-colored moss in Autumn tones as well as a pumpkin on the top of the hutch as well.

Close-up detail shows off some of the amazingly intricate items. From a little plant, to a wonderful assortment of potion bottles, a scrying ball, to a little corked glass bottle of Stardust, a vase of flowers and an astrological chart, this hutch has all the wonderful things any faerie would need for her spells or acts of wonderment.

The bottom drawers of the hutch do not open but are highly decorated in a wonderful sponge paint technique to give them a ton of character and variety in tone and color.

This forest cottage hutch would be perfect for anyone who wants a mystical touch for their dollhouse, or who wants a little fun with their Halloween decoration. It's also a neat conversation piece to have out on display year-round. It measures around 6" in height at it's tallest point, 4" width and about 1.25" in width. The piece is hand signed on the bottom by the artist. (Me!)
